In this Workshop Cleo Viper promotes a new approach to Burlesque: not the loud, crazy, wild one of the 50's; but the secret, mysterious, hidden and scary of the early of the century "noir" era. The aim is to seduce with an elegance and mood that reminds of foggy dirty London suburbs in the 20's, or as if the show was taking place during very monstrous and scary Halloween night.
The energy of the performance is kept by the performer high by trying not to reveal and show too much, hiding will be more important than shaking; and moving slowly will be more effective that jumping around. Not so easy, in the world of colours and sparkles usually associated with the idea of "burlesque" !
It's a very interesting challenge for any performer who wants to experiment something different, or is trying to develop a dark character such as a spider, witch, vampire or zombie.
