MADIFESTO EDITION 2 AND ITS FIRST EDITION OF THE EUROPEAN FASHION SUMMIT 2014 - OPENINGS EVENT AT HUNTING AND COLLECTING BRUSSELS BELGIUM
Hunting and Collecting and MAD Brussels present Belgian fashion designer CHRISTIAN WIJNANTS as the special openings event of MADIFESTO 2014 and its first EUROPEAN FASHION SUMMIT on wednesday June 4th, between 7pm and 10pm at Hunting and Collecting Select Store, 17 Rue des Chartreux ,1000 Brussels Belgium.
MOOD SEQUENCE invites you to a intimate journey into the world of christian wijnants. The Antwerp-based, Belgium designer reveals his extensive archive of mood imagery, collection photography and show footage by a multi-channel video installation. In a stream of consciousness, the various sources of inspiration are a guideline through the creative process and also the major influences in his work. The installation has been produced in collaboration with Belgian video artist Michiel Helbig.

Christian Wijnants is an Antwerp-based fashion designer. Born in Brussels, Christian moved to Antwerp in 1996 to study fashion design at the Royal Academy of Fine Art. His graduate collection won the Dries Van Noten Award for best collection in 2000. After graduation, Christian presented his collection at the prestigious Festival d'Hyères, where it was awarded the Grand Prix and picked up by stores including Colette (Paris), Pineal Eye (London), and Via Bus Stop (Tokyo). After working with Van Noten in Antwerp and Angelo Tarlazzi in Paris, Christian launched his eponymous label in 2003. Christian Wijnants presents his collections in Paris during Paris Fashion Week and is sold at 100 boutiques and department stores worldwide including Barneys, Harvey Nichols, Joyce, Opening Ceremony, Tomorrowland, Printemps and of course Hunting and Collecting. Rich, layered graphics and fresh colors translated into eloquent knitwear offer a play of authenticity and luxury that has won him the 2013 International Woolmark Prize, 2006 ANDAM Award, and the 2005 Swiss Textiles Award. His work is in the permanent collection at ModeMuseum Antwerp and has been featured in major publications including editorial by Vogue Italia's Franca Sozzani and NYT’s Cathy Horyn, exhibitions, and special projects.
