We don’t just show in galleries and museums… at the invitation of the Hercules Public Library, NIAD is pleased to announce our participation in the second of a two part, back-to-back exhibition. “Local Motion, No. 2″ runs through October 2014.
Everyday, nearly a dozen adult artists with disabilities living in the Hercules area make the trek to NIAD Art Center in Richmond… heading over the hill, and get busy in the studio.
With “Local Motion,” Hercules’ acclaimed and award-winning architectural gem will have stories will not just in the pages on its shelves but on its walls as well. The exhibition offers a unique look at a selection of the amazing art that tells the tales of the lives of this crew of dedicated and local artists. Featured in part one will be paintings, drawings and sculptures by James Heartsill, Sara Malpass, Ann Meade, Maria Radilla and Kevin
Randolph, all residents of the library's surrounding area.
Come meet the artists. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free.
