Vršac is a town and municipality located in Serbia. It is located in the region of Banat in Vojvodina province, Serbia. It is part of the South Banat region. There are traces of human settlement in this area since the Paleolithic and Neolithic. Remainings of two types of Neolithic culture were discovered in the area: an older one, known as culture Starčevo, and another known as the Vinca culture. From Bronze Age there are traces of cultures Vatin and Vršac, and from the Iron Age there are cultures of Hallstatt and La Tene. Slavs settled in this region in the 6th century. Vršac is one of the oldest cities in Banat. This city has rich history and tradition, surrounded by the beautiful nature and designed works of artistic merit. Its residents are proud to say that Vrsac is more attractive and appealing than many of the other Pannonian cities.
