Learn Bandari dance movements to include in your performances and social dancing at Persian events. This lively and popular folkdance from the Persian Gulf ports of Bandar-e Abbas includes traveling steps, isolations, and floor work, and features vibrating shoulders, bold hip and torso accents and rhythmic clapping. The dance and music of the melting-pot towns of the Gulf combine Persian, Arabic and African influences introduced by the variety of seamen who once frequented the ports. The workshop will include steps, styling and staging (choreography), with attention to improvisation—the foundation of this traditional dance.
