Rosangela Silvestre will be back in Brighton in July 2014, this time to teach a 4 day intensive!
All info is now online and bookings are OPEN! You can book via www.hildebellydance.co.uk/about/silvestre.shtml
Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July 2014:
Introduction to Silvestre technique:
Saturday 12pm - 6pm (1 hour break included in this time)
Sunday 11am - 5pm (1 hour break included in this time)
In this 2 day intensive, Rosangela Silvestre will introduce the students to her format. This will include traditional movements of the Orixa, a dance tradition unique to her Brazilian heritage, as well as her own exquisite creation titled 'the Silvestre technique', a contemporary modern dance training system rooted in the symbology and gestures of Brazilian culture. There will be time spent on the symbology of this codified system, so a notebook would come in handy. Each day we shall have 2 hours of Silvestre technique, 2 hours of Orixa dance and 1 hour of theory.
For those that have studied with Rosangela before: in her introduction to Silvestre technique intensive Rosangela will cover different aspects of her technique than previous years, but it will be open to all levels so also to those that have previous dance training in Silvestre technique.
Please come in athletic attire (preferably dark colours), allowing the contours of the body to be visible. Please bring plenty of water and snacks. July tends to get quite hot in the studio as there is no air conditioning, so change of clothes might come in handy as well.
Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd July 2014:
Silvestre technique - part 2:
Monday 11am - 5pm (1 hour break included in this time)
Tuesday 11am - 5pm (1 hour break included in this time)
In this 2 day intensive, Rosangela Silvestre will continue onto her introduction to Silvestre Technique. We shall cover her technique in more depth focusing on Silvestre, symbology and Orixa. This intensive is ideal for people familiar to Silvestre's format, so for those that took the 2 day weekend intensive, or that have taken the 2 day intensive in 2012 and/or 2013. Each day we shall have 2 hours of Silvestre technique, 2 hours of Orixa dance and 1 hour of theory.
Workshops will be accompanied with live music.
