LAGOS ROOTS is a 17-piece afrobeat ensemble that brings it back to the root: straight to 1970’s West Africa. Led by Geoffrey Omadhebo (Sonny Okosuns, OJ Ekemode), LAGOS ROOTS is steeped in unfiltered, deeply-grooved and intense Nigerian Afrobeat – horn-blasted tribal funk rhythms that keep you moving (and sweating) to the music of the Kalakuta Republic. EVERYBODY SAY YEAH YEAH!
SANTOS PERDIDOS combine a blend of styles that is fresh and instantly recognizable, playing an eclectic mix of Son Cubano, Rumba Española, Bolero, and Afro-Peruvian Lando. With its strong vocal harmonies and rich sound, the band's repertoire includes traditional music from Cuba, Colombia, Mexico & Spain as well as original compositions in traditional styles. The band features 2014 Grammy winner Christian Pepin on congas and other percussion instruments; Jordan Wilson on guitar, tres cubano and vocals; Katiana Vilá performs on bongo, cajon and vocals; Bil Hager on acoustic and electric bass; Mario Silva on trumpet and vocals.
MATT HAZE is a riddle wrapped in an enigma, covered in a stylish beard. One of the most forward-thinking and current DJs in SF, Haze rubs contemporary and classic jams with a marinade of cutting edge beats and a nod to the old school. Haze is difficult to classify but impossible to resist. He best known for his work with SF’s Slayers Club collective, dropping everything styles across the board from twerk and dancehall to moombahton and tropical bass, afrobeat, tech-house, R&B and more.
