It's time to worship at the Alter of Rock with Exovox, For No One and Be the Scene! Both of these bands are at the top of their game and this cannot be missed! Also, for the first time in almost 2 years Pruf is back with the original line-up! Be the Seen is also performing!!
Exovox is influenced by the distortion, angst and passion of grunge and the founding fathers of the movement!
Exovox is a punk influenced grunge trio from Albany, NY. Fresh out of the studio with engineer Derek Mocarski front man Jamie, bassist Sara and drummer Dave have plunged head first into the local music scene in the Capital District playing shows at Valentines, Broadway Brew, The Bayou Cafe, Jillians & Bombers. The band is influenced by sounds of The Pixies, Nirvana, Anti Flag, The Ramones, Rise Against, Green Day and often the music can be best described by fans as heavy, raw, powerful "screaming style vocals" and an interfusion of flowing bass that compliments the rhythmic, catchy guitar riffs and the fast in your face drum rolls and cymbal crashes! Download Exovox's new single Conformity on i tunes, Amazon & Myspace distributed by Fontana.
Exovox aka "outside voice" = expression in the form of truth even if it hurts. Exovox lyrics explode with compassion in pursuit to spread a message about the negative impact on our environment, corporate greed, the decline of the bees, homeless rates rising, the dangers of genetically modified food & the all too familiar hopeless feeling of "conforming" to societal norms! Support our music and help us spread the message to the masses. If you feel as fed up as we are then take a stand and support us!
For No One
The seeds for For No One were first planted back in the mid-90’s, when bassist Wayne Mitchell forged a lasting musical partnership with singer T Keegan, based on an affinity for the then burgeoning grunge rock explosion. Their first venture together was the grunge rock powerhouse Andalusion, for which Wayne provided the drumming. After that band folded, younger brother Josh Mitchell stepped up to the fore with some serious drumming heat, and with Wayne moving over to bass along with guitarist Ryan Olive, they formed the band Blue Stigmata. As new songs were being developed, the band decided a name change was in order, and For No One (based on the Beatles song of the same name), was born.
The band has always been known for cranking out great, straight-to-the-point tracks reminiscent of their 90’s rock and old school punk influences (Nirvana, Misfits, etc.). With the addition of Aaron Magram on guitar in 2011, the band soon began to incorporate other classic hard rock influences into their sound (Black Sabbath, Queens of the Stone Age, etc.). Now sporting a broader range of styles in their arsenal, the band believes their sound has evolved to the point where they can simply be referred to as a kick-ass heavy rock band.
For No One spent the majority of late-2011 and 2012 playing various local haunts, at times opening for national acts such as Middle Class Rut and Foxy Shazam. The band then spent most of early 2013 working on their debut self-recorded, self-titled album, followed by a brief Mid-West tour that summer. The songs cherry picked for the album bridge the gap between old and new; tying different eras of the band together with the same distortion, booming drums, and raw vocal hooks that hit the spot. With additional mixing & mastering by Darin Rose, the finished product has both the clarity and raw immediacy that any fan of heavy music could ask for.
The band is proud to carry the torch for hard rock music, as they continue to put together tracks for a second release. Playing heavy rock music may seem like a commercial proposition to many, but For No One believes that, at least in their neck of the woods, straight-up rock bands feel a bit scarce, and they are more than happy to be a part of the proud few that keep on rocking in the free world.
A true and proven voice of indie rock, Springfield Massachusetts’s power-trio Prüf (pronounced proof) formed in 2008 with a specific ethos in mind – to stay true to themselves and create music that comes from the heart, soul, and gut of three musicians tired of following the pipers call.
In March 2009, Prüf recorded an eight track E.P. at Rotary Records in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Their first full length thirteen track album titled “New World” was released in December 2010, managing to create a buzz in the scene that continues to reverberate to new listeners on a daily basis via internet radio. Returning to the studio in July of 2011, Prüf recorded some new material such as live favorites “In God We Trust” “Good Friend” and “Little Bird”. Currently the band continues to perform regionally as they prepare to record material for their second full-length release in the fall of 2012.
