We are very pleased to announce a very special show in an incredibly intimate venue.
Throwing Snow is releasing his debut album this summer and to celebrate this is bringing his live show to the Rocking Chair.
Mosaic is meant to sum up the entire album. It's a combination of different influences brought together to form something coherent, both in terms of individual tracks and the album as a whole. As it's my first album after releasing a lot of varied EPs, I wanted combine
the different sides of my production into a full length. Drawing on themes in my previous releases but distilling my sound, and writing something that sounded like me.
My influences came as much from the equipment/instruments I was using and the sounds I
was finding, than from particular styles or musicians.
I wanted to create surprises with sudden changes of mood and arrangement, often resulting in
two or three distinct movements in each track.
I finally got possession of my piano this year, and it featured on the album throughout.
I saved our family piano when I was 8 or so, as it was going to be disposed of, by having
piano lessons. It eventually it went in to storage and came out many years later a bit of a wreck. It's quite broken in places but it means you can create some really odd sounds.
While at RMBA I met two vocalists, Adda Kaleh and KNOX who both feature on the album.
I find Adda Kaleh's voice is chillingly beautiful, especially when combined with her songwriting. Brother and sister act, KNOX managed to inject the perfect human element
needed in Draugr. I have worked with both Py and Russell Morgan as I love both their voices especially as they are very different. It was the first time I’d worked with Jassy Grez and Kid.
Additionally to the bill we are seriously pleased to announce that we have the excellent Pedram joining us. Pedram is one of the producers who are really driving forward the exciting scene in Sheffield. Alongside Squarehead, they are super residents for Ohm Sweet Ohm. Pedram
