Music is the catalyst for Electro Static Productions. We are currently seeking subjects for Case Study 001 New York which takes place June 7, 2014 at Spektum. It is a 20th Anniversary" event for legendary label Tronic Music. The features two of the most prolific DJs in the game, whose distinctive grooves put a dance floor into perpetual motion.
The dynamic hypothesis developed by Chicago based Electro Static Productions of the inherent connection between science and music finds their systematic study reaping riveting results. They utilize dance floors as a make shift laboratories where interactions between DJs and clubbers are carefully observed. The DJ combines stands of sound, two records or loops, and like a lightning strike or the formation of a new star, the audience is compelled to move and shake, connections forged through the bond of music.
Christian Smith has been at the top of his game as a DJ and producer for over a two decades, but despite enjoying a global reputation as one of the most evergreen performers in his field, times have never been quite as good as they are right now. His label Tronic Music is in the top of the charts every week. His worldwide reputation for excellence in production finds him on imprints such as Drumcode, Sci - Tec and Renaissance. Joining Christian for this co-headlining set is a musical mastermind who needs no introduction, Kevin Saunderson. One of the pioneers of the Detroit techno movement, Kevin's sound is known world - round, via his label KMS, which can be credited for with seminal tracks like "Good Life" and "Vision of Love." Both Kevin and Christian are iconic DJs can be found on top of lineups for the top festivals and clubs It is a great honor to welcome these two techno icons to conduct the Electro Static experiment in New York.
