A new live music and club night in the recently re-opened 93 Feet East on London’s Brick Lane, Trans Europe Express is a platform for new European music in the heart of London’s club land.
The opening event sees two of France's fastest rising acts and a new precocious London talent take to the stage, while the DJ roster includes respected players from Italy, France and the UK.
Having taken Liverpool Sound City festival by storm, Griefjoy return for their second London gig. The buzz around them in France has already started to perculate to this side of the channel. Their sound combines rock intensity with heady electro and the heart tugging emotion of A Reminiscent Drive with pure dance floor energy of Justice. All of it amazingly mature for a group whose average age is 22. Their only other London gig sold-out the Lexington, when they were supposedly unknowns. So if you want to catch them before they blow-up, you better grab your ticket quick.
Fast rising Parisian electro chanteuse Cleo T, first started turning heads when she won Paris’ Young Talent contest in 2012. Since then she’s assembled a band of astounding musicians and recorded her first album ‘Songs of Gold & Shadow’ - which was produced by John Parish. She’s currently touring her mysterious, through the looking glass, songs around Europe and went down a storm at this years The Great Escape in Brighton.
New signing to Chris Coco’s Melodica imprint, Ben Hauke is a young master of live sample looping, creating one-off live re-cuts on vintage samplers, from a sample-bank that repurposes everything from found sounds to jazz, classical music, hip hop and electro.
DJs will draw from TEE’s sterling residents, which includes France’s Mathieu Maddesson, the UK’s Ben Osborne and Italy’s Severino and Nico de Ceglia - the family who also A&R TEE’s guest acts.
The night is being run in partnership with Oui Love and the French Music Export Office in London.
