Milaap is the Hindi word for encounter. Seven musicians and two dancers have been searching for this milaap - on both an artistic and human level - between the Indian and the Belgian culture, between dance and music, between tradition and contemporary times. Emotions, which are a global human characteristic, build the red thread throughout the performance. The artists take the audience on a journey through feelings. Emotions are also the working tool to overcome different artistic systems and backgrounds. Milaap is finally also the quest of a woman, with the desire to flourish, to discover and to free herself from any culturally imposed structures. She is fragile and afraid, yet also strong and fighting her way, searching her milaap between tradition and her self.
