Want to know more about Ukraine's Revolution of Dignity? Want to witness entire nation rise to a new level of consciousness? Want to understand what freedom is truly worth?
Join us for an evening featuring documentary short films by Babylon’13 that are dedicated to Ukraine’s Euro Maidan.
Following the documentaries there will be a discussion with Yuri Gruzinov. Yuri is a witness to and a participant in the recent events in Ukraine. He is a member of filmmaker initiative Babylon’13, formed after the tragic events of Maidan. From then and until now, filmmakers of Babylon’13 have been filming in dangerous places—on Maidan, in Crimea, and now—in East Ukraine.
During the fighting at Hruschevska Street in Kyiv, where he himself was wounded, Yuri turned out to have filmed the first two deaths of Euro Maidan protests. Yuri was later kidnapped in Crimea. At the event, we will view the first two movies produced by the Babylon’13 project. We might also get a chance to see one of the new documentary shorts filmed recently in Slavyansk.
Films are in Ukrainian, with English subtitles. Some graphic content.
Proposed $10 donations will go to support wounded soldiers of the Ukrainian National Guard.
