MMMA Wheeled Warriors
MMMA promotions is to stage Boxing & MMMA/ modified mixed martial arts fights between wheelchair-bound fighters on same shows as able bodied fighters for, as far as we know, the first time anywhere in the world, Which means both Boxing and MMA come together in a cage.
The MMMA Wheeled Warriors group are to put on a series of bouts with fighters in wheelchairs and also amputees under Boxing & MMMA rules. It will take place at Custard Factory Birmingham 13th September 2014 UK.
This event will play host for the armed forces veterans from both Britain and America, to help those injured in the line of duty, giving focus to their abilities, hence naming of the event 'Independence Day'
MMMA Wheeled Warriors World Boxing Heavy weight Title will be fought for and won by any of the four men ,Alexander Perkins America, Davin Bretherton Australia, Gaz Keegan Great Britain, and Temu Mokotupu New Zealand.
Boxing and MMA is to come together with also the first British Amputee MMA fighter Robert McLeod who will be fighting an able bodied person in Mixed martial arts.
Paul Buttery also an Amputee Boxer who is to fight an able person. This is to be done in a cage with all forms of combat sports taking place in one arena.
The show will also consist of able bodied fighters in Boxing, MMA and, Prize-fighter championships A new breed to old school with Decca Heggie versus.
The fighters will compete in specially-made Combat wheelchairs that are adaptable to various sports such as basketball, football or even as an off-road vehicle for activities such as mountain-biking. Designed by Colin Wood, they can also be used for both MMA and Boxing.
MMMA Wheeled Warriors is the brainchild of Colin Wood who has worked tirelessly for the past 9 years and who is determined that physically challenged people enjoy the chance to fight in MMA and boxing alongside able-bodied sportsmen and women. His dream is to see both MMMA and boxing accepted into the Paralympics.
MMMA Wheeled Warriors now has branches in the United States, Serbia, Brazil, Australia and South Africa and New Zealand. “Will be setting up wings in many more countries in the near future.”
