PARADE is BACK...!
Our first PARADE party of 2014 is gonna be a special one...
We're very lucky to be playing host, as the London date on their UK tour, to the wonderful BOAT TO ROW, those 'instrument swapping, harmony sharing friends' from the Midlands, with a brand of folk-rock that will appeal to fans of vintage Fairport Convention, Gene Clark, Tim Buckley, etc., & anyone else that can appreciate well-crafted songs sung in gorgeous harmony!
Then in complete contrast, all the way from Japan (via Hackney), we have Dadaist punk-rock kitsch girl-group performance art comedy genius from NO CARS...
Plus a set of stripped back afro-folk-soul-jazz from MIRYAM SOLOMON, with JEAN BERTHON on guitar (all the way from Eritrea, via Sweden, France and Lower Clapton)...
And of course the PARADE 'house band', ART TERRY & THE CHURCH OF PUSSY, leading the congregation in praise as only they know how!
I'm also privileged to have legendary New Zealand DJ BOLOS 45 ('45s only, no requests!') making his UK debut alongside me on the decks...
All in the warm and welcoming surroundings of Dalston's Servant Jazz Quarters (just around the corner from Dalston Kingsland station, & a couple of minutes walk from Dalston Junction on the Overground)
The live music starts early so don't be late!
