An experiential method of deep personal exploration
The Sanctuary is excited to host a day-long workshop of Transpersonal Breathwork, an experiential method of deep personal exploration. This approach uses a combination of intense breathing, evocative music, body work, expressive drawing and group process to foster profound awareness of material ranging from incidents in our personal history to events in the cosmos.
The term “transpersonal” refers to those experiences where our sense of identity or self expands beyond our personal biography and ego boundaries and transcends the usual limitations of time and space. These experiences facilitate deeper understanding of ourselves, our relation to others and our place in the universe. They help us gain increased comfort in daily life and a spiritual intelligence that fosters calm and optimism amidst the difficulties of the world.
This workshop provides a safe setting that facilitates transpersonal experiences. It does not substitute for psychotherapy, but can significantly deepen and enhance psychotherapy and other healing and personal growth efforts.
Please review these health cautions: Transpersonal Breathwork is deeply experiential and may involve intense and energetic emotional release. It is not advised for pregnant women, persons with cardiovascular problems, glaucoma, epilepsy, or an unresolved history of psychiatric hospitalization.
This workshop will begin on Friday evening, June 13, at 6 PM with a vegetarian meal, followed by an introduction to Transpersonal Breathwork from 7 to 9 PM. On Saturday June 14 the workshop will begin at 8:30 AM and conclude by 9:30 PM. It is important that everyone attend the Friday evening introduction/orientation and stay for the full duration of the workshop on Saturday.
The workshop will be held in the yurt located on the Sanctuary’s beautiful 40-acre land preserve where guests are free to wander and explore. Vegetarian meals are included with the price of the workshop.
