The Sounds Of Big City Underground, 2d edition

De Oude Rechtbank Stratumseind 32, Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Samantha Blackburn (UK)
Varon V (UK)
Katya Gabeli - dj/violin set

Special Performance by Stef Habraken & Ressy Uchiha

The Sounds Of Big City Underground is a new concept, where some of the coolest DJ’s on the underground house scene come together in Eindhoven to create an unforgettable night of quality dance music.
The second edition of the event is going to be all about the sounds and vibes of London's underground scene, with two of London's most upfront DJs, Samantha Blackburn and Varon V behind the decks.

Varon V is a DJ with over a decade of experience behind the turntables. His sound could be described as a fusion of deep grooves and bass-fuelled rhythms and is heavily influenced by his upbringing, which was set to an eclectic soundtrack - from Reggae and Rare Grooves to Funk and Disco. His exquisite taste is reflected in his ever-evolving music collection and in his own releases.
Besides his regular appearances abroad Varon keeps up a busy schedule in UK, playing at numerous venues and festivals such as Glastonbury and holding down his residency at Egg, one of London’s top nightclubs.

South African born Samantha Blackburn has in recent years established herself as one of London’s best female talents to emerge onto the the scene and is currently a hot name, playing at venues such as London’s renowned Fabric and holding her monthly residency with Get Diverted.
Her sets are balanced with rolling tribal beats with a slightly two-step influence and melodic chimes reminiscent of her South African roots. With her flair for new sounds it’s not a surprise she was labelled as “one to watch” by Mixmag.

Katya Gabeli is a musician with a classical background. At the age of 16, a few years before graduating conservatory as a violinist in her hometown of Moscow, she started as a radio DJ and soon joined the team at Russia's largest dance radio station DFM. After 8 years “on air” Katya moved to the Netherlands where she got her degree at the HKU High School of Arts. Eventually she began freestyling on electric violin during DJ-sets, integrating her classical skills into dance music.
She has played in NL and abroad, including gigs at ADE, Ministry Of Sound, Extrema etc.
