Otley Victorian Fayre has been running for many years. Until 2010 it was held on a Friday evening. Now it runs from noon - 6pm on the first Sunday in December. This has given it a new lease of life and it is now a truly family day out with upwards of 17,000 people attending this fabulous, free event.
On the pedestrianized streets you will see a wide variety of stalls offering gifts, food and the chance to help local charities and good causes. The indoor areas in The Black Horse Stable Yard and The Old Grammar School sell only hand crafted items.
When you come you will see street entertainment including Mummers, Morris dance troupes, school singers, dancers, bell ringers and brass bands. There will be delicious food on offer such as our award winning butchers selling pork pies and home made burgers, our fish shops offering traditional Yorkshire fish and chips, our many and varied cafes offering a warm place to sit and eat and our plentiful public houses dressed in Victorian clothes offering great Yorkshire ales. There are traditional music organs at various points around the town.
We must not forget the donkey rides and our greatest attraction, Santa’s reindeer.
You will not see candy floss, helium balloons, burger and chip vans and low quality items for sale. All this is topped off with family orientated fairground rides.
Come and join in the fun…..it’s FREE to attend and we guarantee a great day out.
