BE FESTIVAL 2014 is a fortnight-long feast of culture, with two distinct weeks each serving up a different opportunity to enjoy the best of European theatre at The REP.
WEEK ONE (Wed 2 – Fri 4 July) presents a unique double-bill, featuring Birmingham’s own Stan’s Cafe and Danish winners of BE FESTIVAL 2013, Out of Balanz.
WEEK TWO (Tue 8 – Sat 12 July) lays on 22 performances from 11 different countries over five nights, with opportunities throughout each day to mix and share ideas, with visual-arts exhibitions, workshops and discussion too.
And the festival’s second week, we’ve turned The REP back to front. Audiences now enter the building through the rear entrance on Cambridge Street, stepping into The Hub, a relaxed lounge converted from the venue’s construction workshop; there’s plenty of sofas, a cabaret stage, cafe and a well stocked bar.
Finally, on The REP’s main stage itself there’s now a pop-up restaurant, serving delicious interval dinners to artists and audiences together each evening (including a vegetarian option).
Tickets are £12 a night and can be booked at www.birmingham-rep.co.uk. Alternatively, you can book a festival pass for all 5 days for just £50 by calling the REP Box Office on 0121 236 4455.
