Generations of dub collide in the final festival night celebrating the sound system tradition with live dub mixing and dancehall vocalists over everything from classic roots riddims to new school bass music, all powered by Dub Siren HiFi’s 16,000 watt amps and speaker boxes: Jamaican dub legend Scientist with General Jah Mikey; Brooklyn’s Jahdan Blakkamoore makes his LA debut with NYC dub and bass specialists `and Lee “Scratch” Perry band leader, Subatomic Sound System; King Dubbist’s rootical dubstep don Roommate celebrating a new album release; and the Dub Siren HiFi selectas. Blakkamoore is known for his work in both reggae & electronic genres, first collaborating with Subatomic on dubstep remixes of Lee Perry’s Blackboard Jungle, and recently Grammy nominated as a writer and vocalist for Major Lazer &
Snoop Lion. In addition to the music performances and the workshop detailed below, the night includes visual arts like the Boombox Wall of Sound installation by Boombox Creator and live painting by Cook from Japan. You don’t want to miss this glimpse into the global evolution of dub, bass, & sound system culture.

Dubspot music instructor Emch (Subatomic Sound System) & Scientist will demonstrate how to create vintage style dub music using Ableton Live and other software as well as techniques for effectively mixing and composing bass using new technology like the SubPac tactile audio device to determine how your music will translate on a full scale sound system.
