Favignana is an island of the archipelago of the Egadi Islands in Sicily, very charming and full of inlets between coves, bays, beaches and reefs.
The island of Favignana has a barren vegetation and is home to the maquis and garrigue; its larger beaches are Lido Ravine, equipped sandy beach, Cala d'Azur and a small beach with rocks. Cala Rossa is a beach with cliffs and caves of tufa. Bue Marino is a beach with cliffs, Cala Rotonda is a unique beach with rocks and pebbles, Calamoni offers both rocks and small beaches, La Plaia is located near the center of the country and is a sandy beach at the foot of the hill of St. Catherine and the its lovely castle. Longnose is full of rocky coves. Preveto is a gravel beach. Marasolo is a beach with rocks, petite and very characteristic. Cala Pretty is instead a small secluded cove made of rocks and sand.
The coves of rocks and sand in Punta Cala Faraglioni and Punta del Pozzo are thin, with its inlets made of low rocks, sandy or pebbly. For those who love diving, you can consider Punta Fanfalo, Scalo Cavallo, Cave Perciata, Bue Marino.
Among the caves to discover you can venture further to reach the Blue Grotto, or the Cave of Sighs, the Cave of Lovers.
For lovers of diving, the island offers stunning location in which to dive and one of these is the Galeotta, a small islet. Another is to dive in Cala Rotonda, which takes place in a cave whose entrance is located at a depth of 8 meters and can be reached both by land and by sea. Another dive for experienced divers is the Scoglio current.
