Axwell, the super star of Swedish electronic music and the leading figure of the Swedish House Mafia, will play this summer in the Aquarius club on the sensational Zrće beach – aptly named the Croatian Ibiza – on August 15th. A giant of modern-day music, super star DJ/producer and label mogul who worked with s Madonna, Kylie, Rihanna, Adele, Usher and Coldplay, announced an explosive show that is packed with surprises.
Swedish House Mafia, the most successful DJ collective of all times, announced their departure from the scene two years ago, and recently released the “Leave The World Behind” documentary film, as well as a live, double album soundtrack available on iTunes on April the 15th.
In addition, Axwell teamed up with his former Mafia colleague, Sebastian Ingrosso, for a spectacular collaboration with the music legend Elton John, alongside Ryan Tedder, lead singer of the band One Republic.
In a collaboration that nobody could have foreseen, Elton had provided the vocals for the new dance anthem, while the two Swedish House Mafia members produced and co-wrote it.
Axwell, who was placed at no. 12 on the DJ Magazine Top 100 DJ Poll in 2011, and has remixed for Usher and Madonna, has been a Grammy Award nominee four times.
The popular Swedish DJ did collaborations with the likes of Rihanna and Kylie Minogue, while his work on Coldplay’s track "Every Tear Drop Is a Waterfall" eventually turned it into a huge club anthem.
Having performed with Usher on the American Music Awards, Swedish House Mafia went on to break all known records for a dance act, selling out the legendary Madison Square Garden in under 10 minutes, and delivering the most talked about show of 2011.
Axwell and Swedish House Mafia have sold over 1.7 million albums worldwide with their biggest selling single „Don't You Worry Child“ receiving over 160 million views on YouTube and reaching the number one spot in 45 countries across the world.
His 3-year residency at Pacha Ibiza with the Swedish House Mafia had reached a renowned and legendary status on the island.
