During the five days, August 9 to 13, 2014, from 19.00 to 01.00 hours, the village and the Abbey of Fossanova will return to the atmosphere of the thirteenth century, at a time when 740 years ago, the morning of the 7th March 1274 blew in this place St. Thomas Aquinas, Doctor Angelicus defined by his contemporaries, one of the main pillars you ologici and philosophical of the Catholic Church.
From the evening to the night you can enjoy scenes of daily life in the camp and nell'attendamento medieval archery, walking between merchants and craftsmen at work, meet jugglers, musicians and jesters, attend dances and shows, taste dishes and specialties medieval , hear the clang of weapons engaged in epic duels.
In the five-day festival, the public can attend and participate in numerous activities, among which we can point out:
The judicial duel in which two contestants and a judge of the field will play a duel in armor. The fight will follow all the rituals of the time and will be shown to the public by a herald. The two riders will compete in different attacks with different weapons (spear spear against three assaults, three assaults sword against sword, dagger against dagger three assaults) and the judge will decide who will be the winner. The duel will be true and practiced by professionals who study techniques duellistica years.
The archery history in which the audience is encouraged to try, free of charge, the archery and crossbow historians under the supervision of experts who will teach the ancient technique of bystander shot.
