14th Festival of peach stuffed

Vauda Canavese Turin, Italy

Tradition and flavors at the 14th Festival of fishing stuffed, 2 to 9 August 2014 Vauda Rocca Canavese.

A week dedicated to leisure and entertainment with a rich program of events, tastings, concerts, dances, live music and cabaret shows.

The main focus is the queen of the delicacies, fishing stuffed revived as tradition teaches, prepared strictly according to the old grandmother's recipe and cooked
in a wood oven.

The tastings

At the festival fishing food stand filled, throughout the event, Piedmont specialties are served exclusively; each dish offered is the result of a study of the old recipes Canavese, once prepared by grandmothers using local products. One of the aims of the festival is to rediscover the ancient flavors of the local cuisine with simple but tasty dishes.

A journey through folk traditions of celebration and food and wine. Moments of celebration where everyone becomes the star of the reality of rural life, discovering the legends that have always
accompany it. True excellence, those offered by the territory, the ingredients of a kitchen that knows how to be sober and robust, but also noble and delicate.

Peaches stuffed with amaretti and chocolate are the queens of the event: typical pudding filled with joy that young and old in the days of celebration. The recipe is the traditional Canavese, the secret of taste: cooking in the ancient wood oven, until a few years ago used by housewives for baking bread.

The tastings provide anchovies in green, tomini to fresh green peppers Carmagnola baked seasoned with olive oil and thyme, sausage liturgy, Piedmontese agnolotti, beans with pork rinds cooked in tofeje Castellamonte, grilled meats, artisanal sausage, seasoned seasoned tomini with olive oil and pepper and finally Toma di Lanzo. The choice of wines is strictly Piedmontese Dolcetto, Bonarda, in addition to those typical of the area Erbaluce and Raisin Calumet.

Vauda Rocca is located in the center of Vaude, on the edge of the Valleys
Lanzo and Canavese and halfway between Rocca Canavese and Cirie. Nestled in the quiet countryside surrounded by woods and vineyards of grapes, thanks to the enterprising organization of its 80 inhabitants, attracts every year thousands of sympathizers during the first week of August on the occasion of the patron.

The Canavese and Lanzo valleys, lands rich in natural beauty and history, conquered with their discreet charm: an oasis on a human scale, to live through their history and in their views of landscapes, from differently colored seasons.
