The art becomes "social". Sharing works to buy the meter, the kilogram, even a centimeter. Quam will happen to Scicli (Rg) for the exhibition "Art in the metro - anticonseguenziale generation" which opens on August 8.
Thirteen Sicilian artists have taken up the challenge from Antonio Sarnari, curator of the exhibition. They produced works salable parts, cutting cloth or subtracting parts of the work, giving you the chance to buy even only one piece, and even a few grams of sculpture.
A provocation? Not only that, there's a good reason: the challenge of the twelve artists was to create art that would remain so even after the "aggression" by the buyer, even after subtraction of unpredictable own part, after the action of the active collector. You could say that, in the age of sharing, the artist has contaminated the relationship, creating an interaction with the collector, in which neither has the last word.
A reflection the Era of consumerism, even in art. And the answer is art itself, with its research and the ability to report, with the de-contextualization.
