Via Crema 8, Milan, Italy

The Costantini Art Gallery opens Thursday, September 11, 2014 the exhibition by Yuri Olegovic titled "The lira heavy", with a series of sculptures depicting the latest lire coin. The coins, desacralizzate from their economic power, become works of art, in which sizes and colors were chosen specifically to make them pop icons; real alteration designed to give new life to a currency no longer be revalued, but now, only be evaluated from the point of view of art. Objects / sculptures that interpret our past, to induce bystander to analyze and reflect on the present, in fact, even the paint, coinciding with the anniversary of one of the most tragic and significant in our contemporary history and a symbol of a hypothetical collapse international economic, wants to be a starting point for an economic analysis of past, present and, perhaps, even the future. The coins are the result of an artistic choice precise, because unlike paper currency, circulating more frequently, and therefore are the most recognizable, and making of abnormal size, Olegovic emphasizing its strength, also characterized by the sole use of colors primary as a synonym of origin. Image pop to bring out an old glory that is transformed into a work of art, looking for a new source of speculation and investment. "... Yuri Olegovic not introduce money into works of art: the coin is the work. On the contrary: the memory of the coins out of circulation - colored and enlarged with the same glowing vibrancy of a billboard - is the premise of the story. The nostalgia (etymologically pain of return) of yesteryear, in which current money nostrano called Lira is the lever that exhumes a mountain of emotions. ... "(From Yuri Olegovic Francis Tadini
