ENSEMBLE ÉRIU :: Dublin Unitarian Church

Dublin Unitarian Church 112 St. Stephen's Green West, Dublin, Ireland

Ensemble Ériu is extremely proud to present their biggest headline concert to date in the beautiful surroundings of the Dublin Unitarian Church.

After releasing their debut album to critical acclaim late last year, earlier this year they toured a number of intimate venues in Ireland, performed at the Masters of Tradition, DownWithJazz, and Hotter than July festivals, and were commissioned by The Model Sligo to write a work inspired by the paintings of Jack Yeats as part of the Fleadh Cheoil.

On 2nd November they’ll be rounding off a hugely successful year before beginning work on their second album with a lengthy performance in the Unitarian, where they’ll be debuting the aforementioned Jack Yeats work for the first time outside of Sligo as well as performing material from their debut album.

Plus special guests TBA.

About Ensemble Ériu

"It’s music which is at turns both wild and mannered, a sound already with the stirrings of something special within its bones. You’ll be seeing and hearing from them again." - Jim Carroll, The Irish Times

"Ensemble Ériu reference something established but offering something just off the page. Fresh, contemporary and traditional at once" - Nialler9

Drawing on the hypnotic repetition of minimalism and the organic improvisatory spirit of jazz, the music of Ensemble Ériu weaves a rich acoustic tapestry around Irish traditional melodies. Developed by concertina player Jack Talty and double bassist and flute player Neil O’ Loghlen, Ensemble Ériu brings together a chamber ensemble of some of Ireland’s most exciting young musicians from a range of performance backgrounds. The result is a unique combination of the fresh and familiar, a soundscape that is creatively progressive yet rooted in tradition.
