Plot: Bernarda, the owner of the house, lives with her second husband and 5 daughters in a small villages of Spain. Her husband is a father of 4 daughters; the father of Bernarda’s eldest daughter was her first husband. Bernarda is proud and arrogant, she exerts excessive will over everybody around her. She is preoccupied with ideas of honor and tradition, in particular relating to the role of women in society. No one can stand against her, and those who try – get punished. Her daughters are an opposite power, they try to get freedom and independence. Every daughter has her own way to fight “the enemy”. María Josefa – Bernada's mother, is a voice of a fight and truth in a play.
