TOPIC OF THE WORKSHOP:
Project Cycle Management as an approach to rationalize work planning and organization in organizations providing adult literacy education.
Responding to a growing need to face a constantly changing society, the workshop is designed to enhance the development knowledge and skills of staff involved in adult literacy education or working with illiterate adults. Therefore the workshop offers a complementary training based on key tools along with theoretical learning related to the Project Cycle Management (PCM), as an approach to rationalize work planning and organization. Session topics will focus on PCM principles and the Logical Framework Approach, needs assessment, the programming process, identification and formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The workshop includes presentations and interactive sessions, project works and analysis of multiple case studies, role-play, maieutic workshop and tailored discussions in which trainers and participants will bring in and share their professional experiences within the group. The program will also include field trips to various historical and cultural sites in Sicily!
WHAT IS THE PROJECT CYCLE MANAGEMENT?
Project Cycle Management (PCM) is a term used to describe the management activities and decision-making procedures used during the life-cycle of a project (including key tasks, roles and responsibilities, key documents and decision options). In 1992, the European Commission adopted the PCM as its primary set of of project design and management tools.
- Managerial/administrative staff of organisations providing adult literacy programmes.
- Staff involved in adult literacy education or working with illiterate adults.
- The workshop is open to n. 20 professionals who are a national of or permanently residing (or registered as refugee or asylum-seeker) in one of the Programme countries, namely: the 28 Member States of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland (EFTA-EEA countries) and Turkey (candidate country).
