Sunday, December 15, in Catania, returns the Street Parade more colorful and noisy that there is organized by several associations, families and free citizens, in order to regain the pleasure of celebrating Carnival in the streets of the beautiful historic city center. It takes a bit of imagination, recycled materials, and wanting to have fun, to participate in the Carnival and built by the people of Catania for their city. Masks created from waste materials, imaginative costumes, accessories and wagons recycled, mad hatters, characters of the Commedia dell'Arte, musicians, actors, clowns, jugglers, street artists, will parade to the rhythm of samba - played by the Small Popular School of percussion Sambazita - to the city center, giving joy and show anyone in the festive s'imbatterà band of the Carnival Street Parade 2015. A parade for young and old, conceived by Gammazita in partnership with GAPA, Centro Iqbal Masih, Gym Lupo Etna Rebel Sounds, and organized and staged by the citizens themselves, simply to regain the streets of our city. A simple, fun and direct, to remind everyone that creativity, culture, arts and traditions, are a common good to defend and promote initiatives and actions from below. It starts at 16:00 on Sunday, February 15, from the entrance of the Villa Bellini in via Etnea with fun activities for children, to continue, throughout the afternoon, with a festive and colorful parade through the streets of the city, which will see alternating activities juggling, with performances of street theater, and events dedicated to the contagious rhythm of Brazilian Sambazita. The route will pass through the streets of the historic center of Catania to stop at Piazza Lupo (input via Teatro Massimo). The final stage of the Street Parade Carnival 2015, in fact, will be held inside the gym Wolf, with a long evening of music, curated by Etna Rebel Sounds. The proceeds of the evening will be donated in full to the project of re-use of the temporary Gym Lupo, a public building abandoned for over twenty years and is about to become a new public space, dedicated to social and cultural activities, run by some historical associations engaged in Catania the city change from below.
