SANGERS & RA (CENTRAL STATION)
Sangers & Ra are the premier "Big Bass" music DJ/production duo out of Brisbane, Australia who officially came together in late 2009. The cornerstone of the recent east coast breakbeat revival in Australia, the pair have exploded onto the international dance music scene releasing a Top 10 Beatport dancefloor anthem as their debut release; garnering the support of international icons like the Plump DJs, the Dub Pistols, Lady Waks, NAPT, Peo De Pitte and Marten H∅rger; and have taken club and festival bookings all across the globe in countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Germany, France, UK and Austria.
Since joining forces, the guys have been hard at work producing dancefloor bangers in the studio as well as developing their "Dex n Fx^2" DJ setup for the clubs. Their debut EP release, "Nasty", on Westway Records, featuring MC SirReal of Freestylers fame, rocketed to #9 on the Beatport Breaks charts in September and was backed by a remix release of the Dogtown Clash's "Hole In The Head" on Westway Records. Both tracks have already garnered impressive feedback and reviews from Tillate, EQ Magazine and the Night Times (Birmingham & Midlands) to name but just a few.
Their much famed remix of Dub Pistols' "Ganja" on Sunday Best Recordings will soon be released as part of the Dub Pistols' "ReHash" Album and will be followed by a bouncy remix of N'FA's (1200 Techniques) new single "We March On" later this year.
Their official releases and bootlegs have been played the world over, from Russia to London, and Germany to France by the likes of the Stanton Warriors, Lady Waks, Westbam, Adsorb, Plaza de Funk, Funkanomics, Maelstrom, Peo De Pitte and many more; and have aired on Radio Record (Russia), Zip FM (Lithuania), Triple J (Australia-wide), RTR FM (Perth) and Radio Metro (Gold Coast). Their notoriety has reached far and wide across the globe; such that they were recently invited to provide the "Breakbeat Top 10 Tunes" list for dance music bible, DJMag. One such bootleg was a crafty 2010 rework of the funky breaks classic "Plump Yer Butt" by the Plump DJs. The track caught the attention of the original artists themselves and was given the official Plump endorsement. As a result, the track will be available for exclusive free download from inthemix.com.au later this year.
Sangers & Ra are the first DJ pairing in the scene to formulate a new twist on the "Dex n Fx" performance format with both working simultaneously on the Decks as well as Effects - hence the title "Dex n Fx^2" ("Squared"). The format was exploited on their recent "Get Nasty" Mini-Mix that has been both featured on ITM-FM (inthemix.com.au) as well as airing nationally in Australia on Triple J.
Widely recognised as major players in the Australian breakbeat scene, Sangers & Ra, both individually as well as together, continue to feature on lineups at many of the perennial venues and events in Australia including, Parklife, the Good Vibrations Music Festival, the Future Music Festival, Stereosonic Music Festival, Blah Blah Blah Boutique Music Festival and nightclubs all across Australia. Their ventures are also soon to go beyond the shores of Australia this July, as the pair will be touring their Dex n Fx^2 set around Germany, Austria, Russia and Ukraine including a main stage performance at the world famous KaZantip Festival in Ukraine, Seenachstfest in Germany and Russian broken beat institution, InBeatWeTrust!
Since the start of the year, Sangers & Ra have been hard at work in the studio working on new original material, collaborating with vocalists from around the world, including N'FA of the 1200 Techniques Valerie M (former vocalist for Groove Armada) and Kitch:MC. 2011 looks promising for the pair with many new original tunes on the way to follow up the impressive results of their debut EP, "Nasty".

DAZ O'NEILL (QBENSIS DJS, AMEN BREAKS)
"listening to one of Daz'd mixes brought a tear to my eye" Baobinga (myspace.com)
One half of Manchester breakbeat duo Qbensis DJ's (currently undergoing a trial separation), Daz O'Neill has been talking about himself in the 3rd person & playing Breakbeat in and around Manchester since the mid 00's
Having started DJ-ing relatively late in life Daz wasted no time steaming through his fledgling DJ career, winning DJ competitions (individually) and appearing on lineups
as part of Qbensis DJ's with DJ's he himself grew up listening to.
Inspired by this musical adventure Daz and fellow Qbensis DJ Col decided to set up and promote their own
club night (Amen Breaks) dedicated to giving relativly unknown DJ's their first breaks (pun absolutely intended),
with many of these DJ's becoming fixtures on the Manchester scene.
After a 3 year hiatus to concentrate on other projects, Daz reappeared batteries recharged and as a solo DJ on Nubreaks radio for an 18 month stint on the Madchester Bass show.
"I would describe my mixing style as inspired by the crowd, part of becoming a good DJ is the ability to understand what the crowd is after and give them shit loads of it!!"
I have been Djing since 1995 and started playing techno and psy trance.
Having an eclectic record collection I started to play other forms of electronic music a few years after and to this day I like to mix up electro/breaks, psy breaks, electronica and techno, also play alternative rock, hip hop and indie sometimes (depends on the party eh?!).
I have DJ'd all over the Midlands, many parts of the UK and had one international gig at the Boom Festival in 1997.
I started a project called Fissionsound in 1998 which was the name of my clubnight and label for music I was recording at the time.
I also started learning about music production around then. I have played alongside a number of well known artists in my time along with many local and independent DJ's.
I continue to enjoy experimenting/producing electronic music covering a range of genres. My most recent work is on here (home mastered). New stuff is posted as and when I am happy with it!!
