Join us on Monday May 9, 2016 at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre for a workshop on traditional methods of working copper nuggets. This technology was once widespread in Yukon, making use of the naturally occurring copper nuggets to fashion weapons, tools and ornaments. The workshop will be led by Dr. Kory Cooper (Purdue University), who has researched and experimented extensively on early metallurgical traditions in the North. Depending on participant numbers, this will be a half day to a full day workshop. Copper nuggets will be supplied. Participants are asked to bring leather work gloves. The workshop is offered free of charge.
