Prima Norsk for a while was the yardstick by which Norwegian music was measured. If it featured on a Prima Norsk compilation it was worthy of your attention, and even though the series only saw the release of three editions. It was inevitable that it should eventualy return, and return it has with Prima Norsk 4, setting the pace again for new Norwegian music, with a compilation featuring the best in new and established Norwegian artists. The momentous event will be celebrated with a release party at Jæger, hosted by MC Kaman's Nightflight, featuring some of he artists that grace the compilation.
With the rebirth of the Prima Norsk series, also comes a shift in its modus operandi. Where before it was the digital vehicle for vinyl only releases, today it's the vehicle for exclusive releases from the Beatservice extended family. For the Prima Norsk 4 release party we've enlisted 6 of these featured artists with a mixture of live performances and DJs from Legs 11, Karl Fraunhofer, Martin Wold, De Fantastiske To, Joystick Jay and B.G Barregaard. De Fantastiske To we know intimately already, but join us as we get to know the prime examples of Norwegian artists working in club music today.
Saturday at Jæger is for the lovers, the lovers of a good melody, an accessible beat and a bassline that goes right through to your feet. The godfather of Oslo's disco scene, Jan Sverre samples the flavours of the past, from funk and disco to eighties pop and sets the tone for a night of easy fun with infectious hooks and pulsing riffs. Jan Sverre will take his listeners on an informed journey through the history of music, music that will strike a chord on some subconscious level with the tracks that did it first.
MC Kaman takes the reigns for the rest of the night and way into the early hours of the morning with a selection of music that signifies the cutting edge of the charts. Ever the iconoclast, there's no musical taboo that MC Kaman is willing to accommodate and the music in his record box is the music of an innocent youth, carefree and unperturbed by the opinion of others. There is no irony to be found here... only a good time in the company of good popular music. Saturday is a day of contrasts however and while MC Kaman and Jan Sverre keep our lounge cosy, our guests in the basement bring an esoteric edge to your Saturday clubbing experience in the latest in Techno, House and Disco.
