Celebrating its 20th year in existence as an uncompromising champion of Techno in Norway, Ploink comes to Jæger on the eve of their third and final release of their 96-16 series. The series, which saw Ploink draw in the best of Norwegian Techno producers across three releases, includes the likes of Mental Overdrive, Prins Thomas, Nordenstam and the man behind the label Thomas Urv. To mark the occasion, Thomas and Ploink are bringing some of these artists to Jæger’s basement with KSMISK, Kahuun and Christian Tilt going subterranean for three very special live shows, while Thomas Urv acts as mediator from behind the decks. Expect an evening of raw energy and live, ear crunching electronics, often drifting off into dub echoes through glacial synthesisers and dominant beats. Ploink and its artists are uncompromising in their pursuit of a pure musical form through a genre driven by a mechanical clock, and from experience a Ploink show, showcases the best in the present and the future of the genre.
And facing off with Ploink is Frædag.
The late evening sun is slowly sinking on the horizon, and Celius is at the controls for the last portion of his set. The crowd swells with the music as the tempo bumps up to 120bpm, glasses glistening in the last rays of sun before the big star inevitably departs for the day and we give in to nocturnal urges. Oskar Pask and Ricky late take over where Celius left off and lay the bedrock for g-Ha and Olanskii to take us well into the early hours of the morning, and if were lucky, early enough for us to see the first rays of sun, stretching over the opposite horizon – even our noble star, couldn’t stay away for very long. G-Ha & Olanskii bring with them a lifetime of experience, playing venues all across Europe and the journey can take us through everything from quaint Disco to mischievous Techno. Your weekend starts here.
