Improve Your Practice Now: Alignment for jivamukti students
A series of 3 workshops that will explore the inner (bandha) and outer alignment of the body.
Your inner and outer alignments are key components in yoga practice to help you find balance between the physical and emotional, as well as helping you to understand how to practice safely.
We will learn how the inner alignment wakes up the core of the body and helps you function in a better way, physically, emotionally and spiritually. We will explore outer alignment and its significance in teaching you how to take care of you body. We will also use the outer alignment to learn how to practice without getting injured, as well as learning to pay attention to your form and posture.
This workshop series will give you tools to improve your practice and bring you into the next level of your practice.
First workshop: Perfecting sun salutations:
Sun salutations may seem like a simple task in the yoga practice, but by going deeper with your learning and looking more at bandha and alignment, we will go on a journey that that will blow your mind and change how you think about sun salutations
Second workshop: Focusing standing poses:
We will go through the standing poses learning the alignment for each of the posses. We will then work through the transitions and how to move from pose to pose using the alignment leant. This workshop will also look at how to create space and groundedness in your yoga practice.
Third workshop: Back bending and inversions:
In the third workshop we will focus on your alignment when in back bends and inversions. We will work with the key elements of the postures to help make your back bends deeper and safer. We will also look at the importance of doing inversions at the end of your practice and their benefits. Finally we will learn hatha yoga techniques and principles that help you to arrive in the present moment.
In 1996 Eyal began his Yoga journey with the Jivamukti Yoga School of NYC, where he was certified as a yoga teacher. He then pursued further studies with leading yogis, including Sri K Pattabhi Jois in Mysore India, Richard Freeman in Colorado, Andre Siderski in Kiev, John Evans in London and Shandor Remete in Serbia. In addition Eyal is a Rolfing therapist and certified by GSI (Guild for Structural Integration). In his teaching he combines his therapeutic skills and treats each of his students individually with special care and attention.
